Just one touch from the King

Nov. 18th, 2007 | 09:21 pm

THERE'S A BATTLE RAGING over this land
A deep damage in the people
Yet pride stops us
Stretching out our withered hand
Yet God has stretched out to heal us

This I know, this I know,
This I know, this I know that

Just one touch from the King
Changes everything
Just one touch from the King
Changes everything

There's a great darkness over this land
A deep darkness on the people
But a light shining
That the dark can't understand
Light of the world King Jesus.

Do you know? Do you know?
Do you know? Do you know?

O land O land O land
Hear the Word of the Lord

17 days, hein?

Nov. 12th, 2007 | 04:24 pm

Only 17 days remaining until I go off to Brazil for a couple of weeks of beaches, sun, agua de coco and lots of português.

I found an excellent video website over at University of Texas at Austin full of Portuguese video clips of speakers from all around Brazil. They talk on a specific topic such as What was your first flight like? Count from 1 to 100. What would you say in a restaurant? and so on. Levels range from Beginner to Superior level.

A funny thing

Sep. 27th, 2007 | 09:26 am

...that I heard on TV:

Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit, Wisdom is knowing not to put it in a fruit salad.

Interesting ebay store

Sep. 15th, 2007 | 11:15 am

Was looking at old soviet cameras and Poljot / Raketa watches at:

It seems like most of them have to be wound up every day as they are mechanical.

I really enjoyed the Night Driving Advert by Golf on tv at the moment. It contains an extract of Under Milkwood by Dylan Thomas is narrated by Richard Burton.

Como se diz isto em português?

Sep. 10th, 2007 | 08:06 am

O gato vinha ao meu emprego

Tinha um gato chamado Fofo

Sempre fazia o trabalho cedo

Um preço foi combinado

Nunca vamos concordar nisto

Vai preparando o almoço, que eu volto à meio dia

Não me lebrei de comprar leite

Ela saia da casa correndo

Conto com chegar cedo

Vamos persistir em tentar

Sonho com dias de sol

Evil eBayers

Sep. 7th, 2007 | 10:22 am

Evil eBayers:

  • Charge 14.99 for postage, and then send your item in an old box and a used jiffy bag and use a postal service which only costs: 2.95.
  • List items as in "good" condition or working order and when you receive them, you see they damn well aren't!

Garden Theory

Sep. 5th, 2007 | 10:44 am

I'm working on a theory, that tending the garden is "The Lord's Work", as Adam was given this task before the fall as, at least one of his main duties. This simple kind of work can bring rest to your mind and strength to your body in a balanced way.

I've tried my own static html pages, my home-brew php based solution and now I'm going for a tried and tested community style setup where I can syndicate content via an RSS feed.

I'm writing this post using LiveWriter from Microsoft which seems to be pretty cool and automagic.
